Yes !!!!As I'm only signed up for this challenge and not the 100km one, would just failing to make the bigger round number on today's ride upset @13 rider 's OCD on the wrong thread?

You not counting this one ? , spotted it early your ride today thread earlier in the monthNew route, new sights, new tarmac. Same old Deer, dopey pigeons and of course tens of rabbits to avoid. Standard stuff if you’re out proper early doors on Country roads……..
And I’m enjoying my cycling - after a bit of a lull. But when you’ve got multiple interests: that’s standard stuff too 😁

Technically it would still count but like you I would treat it as 2 rides because of the work breakI had quite some prolonged ‘break’ at work between riding in and riding home - but logging it on Strava as one ride effectively 🤣 Because of that I hadn’t logged it for this challenge: no !

I leave it to personal choice after all it's a personal challenge son it's down to the individual to decideIt’s a weird one - in some ways. In no way do I think mine was a qualifying ride personally. Hence I didn’t log.
But we all stop. Whether that be for a pee. For a photo. Or for a pint and a rest.
At what point does that stop / rest deem the ride to not be one continuous ride effectively 🤷♂️
I am beginning to think that all of the challenges should really be based on total distance in a day.
I mean, what is the difference in terms of cycling effort between these two scenarios?
I reckon the standard should be total distance between sleeps. (Now I am waiting for someone to say that they often doze off during mid-ride cafe stops!
- Riding 40 km, returning home, watching the TdF highlights, then nipping out again to cycle 10 km to Aldi for a bottle of milk.
- Riding 40 km to a country pub, drinking a pint or two in the beer garden, then cycling home.
)
While there are no formal rules to cover what is one ride or two ,cycling of course has unwritten rules 😁. As this is the friendliest and most informal of the challenges it hasbecome accepted you have 24hrs from starting the ride to finish it and its up to the individual to decide if it's one ride as really your only challenging yourself . Personally for me if you ride change clothes before you ride again it's 2 ridesI’d kinda be inclined to agree.
In a perfect World it would be one straight, uninterrupted ride.
Life, time, commitments, health, age, time of the month, work etc - all means that rarely happens. So where does the line get drawn ? At midnight (As you suggest) might be a good one 👍
Edit: If no one disagrees wholeheartedly: I could be up for another point 🤣

I got the humour 😁, yes there's always an exception but I like to think all participants have enough common sense and self awareness to know what is and isn't one ride***I wasn’t mocking: above. It’s just hard isn’t it. There’s always an exception to the ‘rule’….
