Well I didn't get to complete my challenge this week after all. Because of the bad weather, I wasn't able to do a long ride on the Saturday as planned, but instead only did a short one in the evening - actually the route I'd planned for Sunday morning before getting picked up.

But I'm still on 12 out of 13, so shouldn't be too much longer before I'm done.

One more Lunacy ride to go this year, but the one I posted yesterday was my hundredth imperial century, which is pretty pleasing :-)

I started off this challenge aiming for 150km, but that distance is annoyingly close to a hundred miles, so in practice I've mostly done 161km or more. I'd probably never have reached an imperial Eddington number of one hundred without the challenge, so yet another illustration of what a good idea it was of @ColinJ 's :-)

I am very good at coming up with ideas...

... for other people. Doing something with those ideas myself is altogether another matter!

Well done, by the way. I only started keeping detailed records of my rides after about 20 years so I don't know exactly what I have done.

Ahhh.... but the ideas do encourage you to do things, and that's the main thing, isn't it.

Thanks. I don't know exactly in lifetime terms either since I wasn't keeping records back in my teens, so this is all 'since 2014'. I know I did one ride of 188 miles back then, but I think that was exceptional, and not repeated since either.

I have definitely lost my mojo with regards to longer rides, partly because I have slowed down so much - they just take me so long!

I am trying to get quicker (see my Cragg Vale thread). If/when(?) I can do long hilly Dales rides at an average speed of 20+ km/h again, the mojo might return?

Finally completed - four weeks later than anticipated due to various reasons, but I'm there now.

Only need to do one more ride to get it up to 63 miles, or with four rides I could reach 64, but any further than that is very unlikely.

I’ve had to pull out of this year’s MCAM challenge. I always thought it would be difficult to do it alongside this challenge but I was hopeful that I’d manage it just for this year. In the event, August has proved to be just too difficult (for various reasons).

I’m going to re-post my 2025 MCAM rides into this challenge (with all rides re-numbered). That will give me total of 18 rides this year – so I’ll have completed the challenge with 11 rides over 105km plus 7 more between 91 and 95km. I hope to do two more rides over 105km in Sept/Oct/Nov.

Any more rides that I do this year between 50km and 94km will be posted in the 2025 HMCAM challenge (I’m not going to post rides less than 95km here and then immediately relegate them). Note to @13 rider .. in case you wonder what I’m doing.

It's a shame you missed the metric century challenge, but I know what's it like doing multiple challenges it gets very time consuming. Good luck on the 105 target ,but I will still call you out for just doing 95km 🤣. My OCD means I can't be silent sorry

9 rides done for me, so in theory there's plenty of time to complete my 61km challenge.
Really busy with work, home & garden chores/DIY, plus decorating and selling the father-ln-law's place to pay for his self-funded nursing care, so there isn't as much time for cycling as I'd like.

And probably zero chance of hitting my unofficial stretch target of 100km.

Got my 5th ride in today. I'm going to have to get a move on to get to 13 in another 4 months!
Only just reached the distance, but quite a hard ride due to strong winds, and I chose a route with a fairly hefty climb - heart rate hit 174 on that climb, first time over 170 this year.

Windy ride here yesterday too - with occasional showers in the morn
