The bag is dead ....

I bought one of these four years ago for about £15 on Amazon (although curiously, the yellow one has now gone up to £23.99!):

Unfortunately the zip is now bust - it broke as I cycled home in the rain and got in to find the bag hanging open!

I'd had a few people gawping at me as I sat at a set of traffic lights, now I know why! It would have helped if one of them had told me that the bag was bust, rather than looking at me like a bunch of retards.

Anyway, I digress.

Does anyone know where I can get a sturdier version of the same? I don't like those reflective backpack covers, they're a faff.

Probably doesn't help you, but Notts police have been giving out the same rucksack to motorcyclists and cyclists for a couple of years as part of their awareness campaigns. The only difference is a motorcycle\bicycle graphic in the big yellow panel. I know some forces gave out lights and stuff, so for the sake of a few minutes pop in and ask.

If it is any consolation, all 6 of my zips pulls have broken their tags in less than a year.

Depends how its sewn together, my guess is all four corners are sewn in which might make it a bit difficult. Plus its a pain to hand sew a new zip in...

Just take it to an alteration shop/tailors/Debenhams (who I think do repairs...). I can't imagine you'd be out much more than a fiver for a new zip.

Ah well, I've splashed the cash and ordered a new one! I'm keeping the old one until the new one arrives so I can see how much it's faded and lost it's reflectiveness over time.
