I am looking to buy a single speed / fixed gear road bike - not too fussed on weight etc as it is just for commuting to and from work.

Looking for something around the £200 mark, not looking to spend much more than that, can anyone recommend some bargains?!

I was looking at the bikes below: would be grateful if anyone could give me any feedback

if they are your only choices then i'd go the viking.

the description on the FGF bike, sounds like a lie.

for example "They are built using high quality components" this is a lie
"Chormoly Frame" i bet it's not.
"Very Light 10.5 Kg (53cm)" is a contradiction

Another vote for second hand.

Get a Specialized Langster, preferably in steel although TBH you will get more choice in alu

The Trek in the classifieds, suggested by Biggs 682, looks way better than the two you suggested. Hope there aren't any hills on your route to work.

Thanks for the help everyone, currently bidding on a couple of Specialized langsters on ebay at the minute. Hopefully staying around the £200 price mark.

For commuting to & from work, why is a single speed or fixed gear bike is terrible??

i find single / fixed easier for commuting on and general riding but on longer rides it is useful to have the extra choice that a geared bike gives you

Planet X are selling the Holdsworth La Quelda cromo fixed frame for a stupidly low £89!!!!
Grab one and do a budget build with upgrades later!
