What is the best time of the year to buy a new / second hand bike if you are looking for a bargin moneywise . I guess that now would not be a bad time with the winter on the way

Either after xmas/new yr, or when the 2013 models are brought out, bag a 2012 at a good discount. I think most companies tend to release new models around end of Sept after Eurobike, so anytime around now.

If your after second hand I wouldn't get one yet prices skyrocketed after Olympics and tour de France

Definitely some good 2012 bargains if you are lucky with size. I have just got a Specialized Vita Elite for £449. Was £600 when it first came out, then £500 for a while, now £449 from Cyclestore. Well pleased. The 2013 model is £650 and doesn't look much different spec wise.

If you're buying secondhand then do it just after the clocks go back. There's usually a glut of bikes on the market and prices drop.
