Do any of you buy this mag and help those poor lads who are trying to restart their lives? I do.
Not anymore.Do any of you buy this mag and help those poor lads who are trying to restart their lives? I do.
I do. Quite a few years ago I made a resolution never to walk past a seller without buying - unless I've already got a copy. It's one of the few resolutions I've stuck to.
The Big Issue now have a shop and I've just ordered a t-shirt from them.
Where I live almost every seller is Eastern European! Not anymore.
There is/was a problem with Europeans coming here and big syndicates controlling the sales by buying up lots of issues of the magazine, then selling on to their 'sales' people for a cut. The local guys got bought out in effect.
No, I walked up past Sheffield Cathedral the other day, the guy did stop talking long enough on his mobile phone to ask if I wanted to buy. He had a Stabuck's, cigarettes & a mobile phone yet wanted my hard earned money. Okay he may have been given the coffee & the cigarette's & the phone may have been given to him by his mum & he only has incoming calls so she can keep an eye on him, but it all didn't seem right.Do any of you buy this mag and help those poor lads who are trying to restart their lives? Thanks for misquoting me & putting it out of context. maybe if you read the whole thing it wouldn'tDidn't seem right for someone to sell a magazine if he has had a cup of coffee? Forgive me if the reasoning is going over my head...
