Only place I have ever heard it called a lolly ice was when I lived in Liverpool.

Mind you they were also sweating golfballs and fading away to a warehouse.

So - you are agreeing that Lolly Ice is the right term then

thanks - glad that is cleared up

The Internet suggests that "lolly ice" is only a Liverpool thing. I am curious though; Do scousers also use the phrase "cream ice" for frozen dairy treats?

That is interesting, it being a scouser thing. So, as a scouser I can say I've never hear of ice cream being called cream ice.
NB
Could it be that us scousers are right and the rest of the world id is wrong ??

Ice Lolly, also ice pops were the ones in a long, thin, clear sealed plastic bag, and if you got an ice cream you always asked for monkey blood on it!

The long thin ones were tiptops where I came from.

A thought re scouser lolly ice may have something to do with proximity to Wales where the adjectives follow nouns in Cymraeg.

Ice lolly = loli iâ
