So, he teaches students with a range of abilities from a cross section of the British education system. He is involved in education- seems a good starting point to be Shadow Education Secretary.

It's the system designed by the Civil Service to ensure that elected politicians don't get to know anything important or know what they are doing, so that the establishment always get their way, protecting the status quo of status and privilege.

It can't be, my sister went there.
If it's like all the other colleges of London University (I also went to another of them) then there are all sorts of people there.
I also like that his dad is described as "a meteorologist" - he obviously needed a day job.
Anyone want to be appalled at the fact that Liam Fox was offered a Foreign Office post by Cameron but turned it down? I mean, Callmedave actually offered this lying, corrupt little shot a place in government.
...and high ranking in the Russell Group not a "local uni" by any stretch of the imagination

She was minister for women but they had to hive off the equalities bit to Sayid Jaffrey who was kinda busy being Culture Secretary at the time. Some were calling here the Minister for Straight Women...

Ah well, perhaps we shouldn't expect any useful improvement in Education policy then.
I worked up the HA housing and sheltered housing on the site of Queen Mary's Hospital at Stratford- seemed a decent enough place - I have a couple of friends who went to University of London from my comprehensive- they didn't seem phased by it [but it was 37 years ago!]
