The Central Heating...

I sleep with the window ajar all year round, even in minus 15. The kids tell me my bedroom is like a fridge but I love it that way!
tis exactly how ours is - we opened the windows upstairs when we moved in 2 1/2 years ago, we haven't shut them since... all the radiators are set to 0 (not even frost setting) and we have just, and I mean just, moved off the summer weight quilt over to the medium/autumn weight quilt (9 tog) - though it was a touch too warm last night and unless the rain clears and the skies clear, it will be too warm for it tonight so we will drop back to the summer weight quilt (3.5 tog?)...

The Aga has been on for over a week, the CH has been on every morning and the lounge stove has been lit several evenings. Mrs Gti is still frozen and I'm sweating in shorts and T shirt.

Central heating was on from 2pm this afternoon - went off at 6.30pm when we lit the fire (coal topped up with logs).

Cosy!

Basically in the summer, you can tell when either us or are neighbours are away as it's the only time the bedroom window shuts. Every now and again I get a text from my daughter to say I've left it open! (She obviously doesn't look often.)

Wintertime the heating goes on but not yet.

Barnet,
I am still wearing shorts and short sleeved tops, but, I have started to come under pressure from MrsP and MissP about putting the heating on. I shall resist as long as possible.:stop:

MrsP has just come down from upstairs complaining that if it gets any colder the heating will have to go on.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I don't have central heating, just a wood burning stove. It was cold this mornng so lit a small fire. Just kept it ticking over and let it die down this afternoon

That reminds me, I've still got these that I cut up during winter. Should be able to use them anytime now :-)
