"Can't Get Enough" - Bad Company

However, if you could get enough, and maybe a little bit more, you would have plenty. Miss O'Toole (first name Plenty) appears in the James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever". Bond was played (once) by George Lazenby, who (probably due to being Australian) is often slated for being the worst Bond ever. Slate is often used on the rooftops of houses, and rooftops are often mentioned in...

Rivers are full of water, otherwise known as H2O, and O is the first letter in

Gardens are the favoured stomping ground of the Groundforce team, including Alan Titchmarsh, Tommy and Charlie Dimmock. Charlie is reknowned for her ample bosoms, a slang term for which might be "a fine pair of Bristols". Bristol is home to many bands, including Massive Attack, who's finest works include "Unfinished Sympathy"

Massive Attack have played in London, where I once lived. I have also listened occasionally to the oeuvre of John Coltrane, who of course was a jazz musician. Jazz was originally a term related to coitus, which is anotrher word for having a sh@g. Shaggy has a Jamaican accent, but so do many many middle-class kids in Surrey these days. Surrey sounds like “sorry” (a bit) and Elton John sang “sorry seems to be the hardest word”. Onomatapoeia is also a hard word, one which means that a word sounds like that which it illustrates. “Bang” would be an example of onomatapoeia. Lulu once sang “Boom Bang a Bang”, and she’s Scottish. So are the Proclaimers, so I give you

The Proclaimers once promised that they would walk 1000 miles, but I never saw any evidence of them completing this feat of endurance. I therefore refuse to believe that they did it, a stance that you might ascribe to a sceptic. One letter less would make me septic, rhyming slang for a person from America, whom you might well expect to be "Living In America" by James Brown.

kinks is another word for bends, and hairpin bends are often found on the tracks of motorsport, so naturally I give you

The Chain - Fleetwood Mac (sorry it is a short link but it is tenuous!)

A kink is not straight, it bends. The Bends is an album by Radiohead whose main songwriter is Tom Yorke, or Yorkie to his close friends I'm reliably informed. Yorkie is a chocolate confection therefore:

Smack is another term for heroin, an illegal drug. Another such proscribed substance is MDMA, often referred to as ecstasy or simply "E". Add heroin and e together, and you get heroine. A famous heroine is Kathy in Wuthering Heights, as further immortalised by Kate Bush, however I much prefer the cover version by China Drum. Drum is a brand of tobacco, in a variety known as extra rough shag, which links oh so tenuously to...
