Ah I bolloxed that up. Richard Hell and Dee Dee Ramone wrote it, the Heartbreakers and the Ramones both recorded it, but arch smackhead Johnny Thunders had nothing to do with it:

Maybe, but when I saw the Heartbreakers, Johnny Thunders was singing and they did Chinese Rocks. They were really bad by the way.

Well I recollected it as being 'his song', although did remember it being more complicated with Dee Dee Ramone singing it. When was this? They were suffering live from lifestyle issues?
