This has always bugged me. Wine isn't a spirit,as we know. Whoever wrote the lyrics either knew that,but chucked the word in because it kind of rhymes,or because they're thick.

I think those guys were remarkably smart tbh. 40 years on, they have the nos 1 & 3 in the all-time LP sales list.

Some wines can be fortified with spirit, of course, so maybe they meant that (tenuous, eh?!)
