(There is a connection here but I can't for the life of me remember it - is it just that they were both crap?)

I think it is that the Streak was recorded by Ray Stevens who has a tribute band called Jimi Ray Stevens. In the 60's Mitch Mitchell fell ill before a German TV gig and the presenter, one Dave Lee Travis, stood (or sat) in for him. DLT went on to record Convoy GB with that other twerp - hence the link.

Oh it's not that Ray Stevens recorded 'In The Mood', using chicken clucking to make the sound, under the name Henhouse Five Plus Too and the truck in Convoy had a duck mascot - a farmyard fowl link, see!
