It's not a Chopper if it doesn't have the T-bar gear lever on the crossbar, imo.

No, no, no and no!!
It just wouldn't be the same. The original was a safety planners nightmare
My friend had a purple/orange one and I was so jealous...she used to give me 'backies' on it.

Is this not just some idiot at Halfords who accidentally put different size wheels on a bunch of bikes?

Agreed. I had one of these aged about 9 from Halfords. It was silver. Many happy memories and it got passed on to friends.

That T-bar gear lever had echoes of Star Trek "warp factor 9 captain".... a clicky Sturmey Archer thingumabob on the handlebars would turn it into a shopper. Might as well put a white wire basket on the front. And what's the deal with the 2-part seat ?

I reached a major crossroads in my life at the tender age of 10.
Having out grown my Tomahawk (the younger brother of the Chopper) i was getting a new bike for my birthday.
Would i upgrade to the proper big boy version, or maybe the 5-speed (count 'em) Peugeot "racer" with drop handle bars ! ?

I went with the Peugeot......... 35 years later there is still a little bit of me that wishes i had owned a Chopper,
