Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Mine are just over a mile away at the allotment . I can normally leave them to it but ive not long put two new polands in there and one little hen keeps getting booted off the sleeping quarters so I go down to make sure the rest are keeping her warm . Im a good chicken daddy like that

We only have to go about 50 feet into the garden to check on ours. There is a downstairs and an upstairs in the chicken house, and we leave a small light on as well. Our chickens tend to cuddle up together to keep warm.

They cuddle up on a dog house roof inside but the little one keeps getting knocked off so I put her in the middle of them all if shes not with them and they soon all cuddle up .

One snow flake and the country will become grid locked.
Yes, enabling those of us prepared to venture out on our bikes to feel smug at all the stuck cars.

Fun isn't it?^_^

Yes , I have 10 layers and two that are not laying yet . I get between 6 - 8 per day on average but some are suffolks so don't lay every day but the eggs are nicer .
We have Marins? We have 5 hens. They are quite young but we get between 2 and 4 eggs per day. If it gets too cold will it stop them from laying? I am sure the weather is going to be quite cold here.

Well im no expert but looking at what the others are doing around me and getting very few eggs I would say build them a bit of a shelter . Happy chickens lay eggs !
Mine have an indoor run aswell as an undercover outdoor run and then I have made another run that is totally exposed but only used when I am there . All the others are nests or totally exposed .
