The Country Park

The new Drago towers is literally on the edge of town, the final row of houses overlooking fields.

A hundred yards from my front door is a country park. I'm no expert on such matters but I think it's a managed woodland, planted many years ago on land too steep to economically build upon.

It's about half mile wide by two miles long, and loses about 60 metres of elevation across its width. I live at the top of the hill, at at the bottom on the other side is an industrial estate completely hidden from our view by the park.

Anyway, it's an enchanting place. It's rare to see anyone else there, rabbits aplenty, deer (proper big ones, not just little muntjac types) and the like.

So this thread is a placeholder as I take pics to document the views, the wildlife, and the changing seasons.

I've walked Bonnie there a few times.. It's a lovely quiet area which somewhat surprises me with the housing developments beyond Drago Towers..
I don't think I've ever seen anybody there, to be honest 👌

You'll have to bring Bonnie over one day Pete and we'll take the dogs for a stroll. It goes all the way along to Great Houghton so could stop at the end for a refreshing beverage.

That's lovely. Much like the woods behind my old house. A mile long by half wide 4 separate paths end to end. I haven't yet found something similar in my new location!
