Love the autumn. Dew on spiderwebs, harvesting borlotti beans at the allotment to make stew, mist, hot air baloons, cyclocross, bonfires and the shreik of fanbelts on foggy mornings.

Winter can fark off though. I can manage the cold but the darkness gets to me.

Never trust a man from Lowestoft.... oh, hang on, my OH is from Lowest........

Lowestoft town centre has taken a real dive, I really don't like it much now, although living in London I am spoilt.

The libray was good, they had a few Tintin, Famous Five and Secret Seven books.

Many hours were wasted in Claremont Pier when I was younger playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Simpsons arcade machines, while my Nanna was on the 1p and 2p machines.

I love this time of year.

Trees just starting to turn, warm but not silly hot, tourist gone home so roads round here at nowhere as busy as the summer. Once Halloween is here then its all over, but until then i enjoy it.

And as i work silly shift i get up in the dark 8 months a year anyway

Same here, get up in the dark, come home in the dark, it gets very depressing.

Dont get me wrong, i love the summer sun, but i really like the Autumn.

Warming soups, toast and butter and hot mugs of Tea/Coffee/Soup. and then out at the weekend among the fallen leaves.

I think every season has it's merits, having said that if I could dump one month I think it would have to be January, can't see the point of it at all. Where we live, riding the lanes at night / evening with a good light feels very special, like it's just you out there, always have enjoyed night riding.

Humans are just plain stupid.

Invented aeroplanes, then didn't use the technology wisely.

Should have built a fleet of them, and just used them to fly south after the September equinox, and back North after the March one. Everyone would need two houses, one in the southern hemisphere and one in the northern hemisphere.

It's not as if it needed any new thinking. The more sensible birds have been doing it for millions of years, and we're supposed to more intelligent than them!

In all seriousness this time of year is lovely and if i can ignore the media bleeting over Xmas Noverber and December are fine too but January and February seem to go on for an age and if you get a horrid lot of weather until almost June as we did this year its very hard to keep smiling.

Fingers crossed we get lots of dry crisp and sunny days this winter.
