Anyone been watching this over the last couple weeks? I saw the trailer and thought that it looked interesting but it seems to have developed into the worst piece of TV I've watched in years.

Truly dreadful acting, despite some big names.

Non-existent or pain silly plot - the sub stopped working because the "motherboard" failed? - The nuclear reactor control rods weren't failsafe like every reactor since the dawn of reactors is? Clearly some very shoddy engineering going on under the North Pole.

No proper character development - I felt no sympathy whatsoever when one volunteered for certain death to save the others.

And what's with the submarine set? It seems to comprise largely of a B&Q kitchen decorated with PVC toilet waste pipes and fittings with the occasional domestic consumer unit/circuit breaker to decorate the walls. At least Blaks

Utterly dreadful.

I watched 5 minutes of it last week and again yesterday while waiting for something else to start... It belong on Sky3 or 'Sy Fy' channel.

Utter Poop!

Ah, yes, my wife who is an experienced diver did ask the same question last night! I just told her to suspend belief and keep watching.

I actually don't mind it. Last weeks episode was poor, but it picked up a bit this week. It's a good bit of trash to help numb the mind, which sometimes is just what is called for.

As a physicist who often delights at finding the faults in the science, this is TV gold!

Yeah, ok I should suspend belief, but really. Hat's off for the idea behind it but really they could have made it a lot better by just asking a few people who actually knew about about this diving and deep-water technology, hell anyone who knows lesson 101 in engineering. Classic case of media luvvies producing TV methinks. It also seems to have been filmed in a tremendous hurry, as the dialogue is more like that in a soap opera.

On the plus side, the underwater scenes are nicely done in places.

..and I do like the idea of being able to casually walk in to the nuclear reactor at will with nothing more than a skull and crossbones painted on the door as security! Just make sure when on a Russian sub you know where you are going! (damn there I go again).

I thought episode 1 was good, episode 2 was poor, as was the 1st half of episode 3. It got better once they went out looking for the motherboard (why don't they carry spares for such critical components?) and I'm still hopeful that it will be worth watching next week.

I've been recording it, but having seen so many poor reviews and heard so many colleagues saying how bad it is I think I'll delete it all tonight and reclaim the disk space!

You'd think the BBC would learn after the humungous, steaming pile of pants that was BoneKickers.....

I think this weeks episode was really good, it's not claiming to be the next classic, it's just easy TV to watch.

Watched episode 1. Gave up. No decent character development, poor writing, and technically inept.

Compared to Sherlock - tight writing, interesting characters and superb shooting - it is a pile of poo.

Although it isn't too bad when compared to "The Great Outdoors"
