The sports scientists have established that fitness develops on the days you are resting :cuppa: , between exercising. :training:

Consider this a day when you are building muscle, not using it which would be preventing muscle growth !

Enjoy the day with your boys !:o)

Thanks, yes we got out eventually, but as you can see from the amount of snow on Ben Wyvis it is very cold. We managed 8 miles and stayed dry. Now back in the warm and have some of their pals coming round.....so much for a relaxing day for dad.....at least I'm building muscle^_^^_^

Nothing comes cheap with twins.

We had the Beinn 20's before these and they were superb. They had an amazing resale value on eBay. We sold both at 2 years old with mudguards, rack and bottle cages for over £200 each, which went a long way to the cost of new Beinn 24's. We even used the new boxes to ship the old bikes. I supect we'll be sticking with Islabikes the next time, but hopefully that's a long way off yet.

Pub lunch, now that's a great idea.

Cycling may still be tricky as the sleet is horizontal at times and I'm currently looking over at Ben Wyvis which is covered in snow from 250m ( we're at 155m here) and above. May well try a cycle down to the village (downhill) post office to start with and if complaints minimal then on to pub for some grub.

Yes certainly enjoyed the lazy decadent coffee in bed when I would normally have just been getting to work. Boys building Lego and I'm reading CC with 2nd coffee. If you can't cycle, why not read about it instead.

Stuck at work with major stress and deadlines looming.
Jealous, moi?

Well done. We did 13 miles of canal towpath with a pub lunch as i suggested and it was great fun. Kids are now bathed and dirty clothes thrashing around in the washing machine so job done.

Sorry to hear that Wheeliebin.

Yes, I suppose I shouldn't complain. Cycle with the boys, pub lunch and then off to the cinema with them and two wee pals to see tintin (great movie, kids loved it). Now cooking pasta for the lot of them, and intending to take the MTB out round the forest in the dark for 10 miles or so when the missus gets back, leaving her with the 4 monsters:bravo:

It sure does beat being at work. Hope your day gets better!

Went out at lunchtime and the roads were busier than normal. Lots of pissed off people with their kids in cars looking annoyed, so whilst rush hour might have been nicer, midday wasn't. Still the sun was out and the wind a little less, and I enjoyed my 25miles.

No picket line here and only 6 out of the 50 staff are in.

There were about 50 of them walking along Bridge Street at about 10:30am in Cambridge with a huge Unison balloon, blowing whistles and old stylee car hooters. They looked a bit pathetic really. A few on lookers booed and shouted "Get a real job!" and "Do some work!" Many of the marchers had back packs on so presumably they could get some Christmas shopping in before sloping off home at about 1:30pm to catch Neighbours. Highly insensitive to have such a march or dispute at this time when everyone is struggling many of whom such as myself don't not have any where as near generous terms and conditions as them or any sort of pension what so ever as I simply cannot afford it and we in the private sector are still paying for them to sit on their backsides, the civil servants that is, not soldiers, nurses and a few police (not all of them as there are some really lazy police in it for just themselves).

Thanks, but it didn't - the super-urgent project I have been working on for the last 2 weeks including the weekend just got put back as the customer doesn't want it yet. The cycle home wasn't bad though, bit of a headwind but was milder than the morning.

Today is another day though, looking forward to working on the motorbike this weekend so I can use that on non-cycling days (washes mouth out).
