The Flying Scotsman

Got up early this morning to catch the Flying Scotsman as it travels from Manchester to Edinburgh.

This was Bolton station at 8.08am. It came in bang on time and left as promptly too.

A very emotive sight indeed

I assume you took them on your phone. Don't mean to be hyper critical just the quality wasn't too good, maybe the lighting conditions were poor? The videos were better.

Gotcha. The phones amazing TBH, (Samsung Note 8), but the squidgy organic part that operates it isn't

That said the lighting was pretty poor as well, it was very atmospheric but obviously not great for phone pics.

It was refurbished at Bury, and did quite a few runs between Bury and Rawtenstall on the East Lancs line. There used to be a lot of people taking pics at Burrs country park.

I saw it a couple of years ago on the ELR at Stubbins.
It was before it was re-painted and it was dark, but you couldn't not know it just from the silhouette.
