'Mon the Canaries!!!

I think we only need 17, so I thought I'd throw an extra couple in for good measure.

No Friday night round up this time because they're a day late. But I'll PM the Saturday Slackers.... Anyhow, I'm completely at a loss tonight, so I'll make up some numbers.....

Cardiff v Chelsea 2 - 4
Liverpool v Newcastle 3 - 1
Man City v West Ham 4 - 2
Norwich v Arsenal 1 - 2
Southampton v Man Utd 2 - 3
Sunderland v Swansea 2 - 0
Tottenham v Aston Villa 2 - 0

Still thinking about the World Cup. A sweepstake? I could assign a number to each team, post it up on Google Drive and get people to choose a number on a first-come first-served basis and then reveal the numbers from the document. But it would lack any suspense in the playing.

The full 32 teams would leave me spending the whole tournament updating records and posting scores when I did have a vague intention of watching some of the matches. And I suppose I should also ride a bike some time too.

How about each player can add a new team? ( I don't want the game to become bigger than the number of interested players. The PL predictions game has, after all, managed to get through a season without the Pool or Chelsea.)
Normal 3-1-0 scoring in the group stages.
When it gets to eliminations and AET/Pens still needs a dose of clear thought (which I'm not capable of tonight).

Maybe, if a team is eliminated, the team that eliminated then takes the eliminated team's place.
And, just in case there's a team that nobody fancied who's suddenly looking fanciable, there'll be a mid-round window between rounds for nominating them.
(These should take care of continuity.)

You can get 16/1 on a Man City - Chelsea top two. I'm tempted as I think Liverpool might bottle it against Newcastle, Chelsea should see off an awful Cardiff team and even though plucky little City will probably get a drubbing against Big Sam's claret and blue army they'll still finish first. I'm minded to waste chance twenty notes on that.
