U21 win in Europe again and retain the cup they won last time.
Funny how they struggle at senior level.

I watched the 1st 90 minutes but was so tired that I had to go to bed so missed the final 30 minutes.

Tbf, they deserved it, looked hungrier, wanted it, showed better skill, better commitment etc etc. The back line seemed a bit slow to regroup under attack at times but generally, absolutely the right result.
Now, if only they could push that forward into the senior team. It's also nice as a football follower that's not fanatical, to see other names and players I wouldn't normally have seen or considered, they have some really good talent.

And really really good to see sportsmanship from Carsley when Germany scored their second, an absolute cracker, even Carsley applauded it

I watched most games. Germany and England were the two favourites, it much staying that way throughout.
Woltemade is a class striker, Elliot a very intelligent one. The stormy club world cup meant many a side, England U21 included were quite depleted.
Still, it was a good tournament to watch, the lower theatrics helping.

Well, write it down boy ......
Nadgers, I often go to watch Macclesfield play and Robbie Savage has left to go to Forest Green. Regardless of what you think of him, he was a good manager ** and the players responded to him. There was a good bond with the fans (think Jurgen Klopp with more hair and less white teeth). I thought he'd stay for this next season (level 6) as I believe Macc are good enough to go up again, but Forest Green are in level 5 so I don't begrudge him that.
Wayne Rooney was approached (his brother plays for Macc) but apparently he's not coming.

** he regularly put money behind the bar, which has no influence on my views of him!!

I was under the impression that Robbie was one of the owners of The Silkmen.

@Chislenko I don't know the full ins and outs, but I don't think he put any money in. His pal bought the club, having Robbie as Director of Football (and another has since come in with cash) and Robbie didn't take any wages (when the manager) last season. Robbie certainly puts the hours in on the footballing side of things and is very approachable when at the club. I wish him well.

I have never really understood the general animosity towards Robbie Savage. Obviously I don't know him but he has always come across on tv as a pretty decent bloke. I suspect part of it is a lot of people thought he rated himself too highly as a footballer, but to be fair anyone that plays over 500 league games has had a pretty stellar career IMO.
