Wonder how they will correct the number of teams in the National League for 26/27 as it will have notable knock on effects in other leagues.

I'd go down the promotion route and keep the numbers. Give the little guys some extra light.
Not popular? There's probably too many teams in the lower leagues these days to be sustainable anyway and the leagues should be reduced.

Yes, I think from memory we have had leagues in the past with an odd number of teams in them, I feel sure I recall one year where a team went bust halfway through a season and their results were expunged, or did I dream that?

@T4tomo you've signed an excellent player today. Callum Brittain. I'm very disappointed to see him leave. An excellent footballer you could always rely on to perform. A real loss to Rovers and great signing for Boro.

ah awesome, glad he's over the line and over the Pennines! He does indeed look very promising.

The Championship kicks off today though Birmingham and Ipswich did play last night. As usual I've taken no interest in football through the summer. I know Rovers have signed six players but in Tyrhys Dolan and Callum Brittain we have lost two very good players. Britain in particular will be missed, an excellent full back and the best crosser at the club.

Our manager, Valerein Ismael, is an unknown quantity with a very iffy track record. I have no faith in him, he has it all to prove. Nothing to date suggests he's the right coach for Rovers.

The club has slowly moved into the digital world. Any non-season ticket tickets last season were digital. This year we have digital season tickets, the physical option is available. The season ticket is in Google or Apple Wallet. I think this will lead to long queues, so many fans are unprepared to show tickets and wet phone screens leave people desperately swiping at the gate!!!

If ever there was a sign we're stuck for cash this is it. Rovers own a small patch of derelict land perhaps 50 yards from the club shop and ticket office. Parking for perhaps 20 cars. It's now ANPR controlled and £2/hour to park - to buy merchandise or tickets!!! 😡 Fans now dump their cars down the street making life difficult for residents.

A bad start for Blackburn (sorry Paul) but a good one for Pompey. An away win against Oxford. Most of the preview articles I've read suggest we'll be in the relegation mix again, not unreasonably, but the best possible start. It took ten games to get a win last season, and that was the only win in fourteen. Hopefully the form they showed to get & stay out of trouble can continue. The neighbours won too. Obviously, I'd prefer they went down, but Mr Still seems a very nice and capable chap.

Got to my first game of the season to see North Shields host Marske today, which ended in a 0 - 3 defeat for the hosts.

It's cracking having somewhere to watch a game on my doorstep, almost literally, and the craic at non-league matches is always top notch.

Yes, probably grim. Reports from those who went to The Hawthorns vary widely from got better as the game progressed to utter shambles. Most seem to think Stoke 3 : 1 Derby was the best result of the weekend.........not that we're bitter 🤣

We've got Bradford City at home in the league cup on Tuesday. I expect a decent performance and result. I think the manager will mix it up and if we lose, very likely in my view, the "reason" will be we need to look at these players.

Ismael has everything to prove. His latest word is "transition." We are in transition, this is a transition season in other words mid-table will be a result. He's a charlatan.........other descriptions are available.

Interesting to note 4 out of 11 Championship games were decided in 90th+ minutes - 3 wins from losing and 1 draw. A big lesson there for teams and coaches. The ref gave Rovers an extra 11 minutes to rescue something but we bucked the trend!!
