Convincing win for Liverpool against Newcastle. Two more goals for Ekitike, goal and assist for Wirtz, assist for Salah, and a goal for Konate, on his return after losing his father. Turning the corner after the (relative) crisis, perhaps?

Pompey certainly aren't out of the woods, but I think they'll be OK again. Recent form (the Bristol City game notwithstanding) clearly supports that. 16th, as last time, or better isn't out of the question. For Blackburn to survive, they'll have to find a team or two to be less bad than (Wednesday look doomed on points if not form). On the plus side, plenty of candidates for the drop- certainly everyone from Leicester down, and the neighbours aren't safe yet....

As things stand I think Sheff Utd, 17th, and up are looking OK. The majority of Rovers are resigned to relegation. We were better yesterday but still posed no real threat and made the inevitable error which cost us the game.

It's terrible to say but I'm hoping Leicester get a points deduction to drag them back to our level. We're at home to Leicester on the last day of the season. We had to beat them a couple of years ago and did. History may repeat itself.

The big concern is last time we went down we had Graham, Dack, Mulgrew, David Raya (yes! - five years at Ewood), Armstrong, Lenihan and others. That side would probably be play-off contenders in today's Championship. The general view is relegation will mean a long spell in League One as we don't have a squad capable of getting out. .............which of course is why we will likely go down.

I think West Ham could easily have had 3 reds in that fracas - the guy who started it all with the throw to the ground, the guy that slapped Palmer on the cheek and the guy that actually got the red.

A red for the "slap" would have been harsh, he barely touched him and didn't really try. Throwing Cucurella like a rag doll should have been a red card and an OBE

First he's not my player. I'm not a Red. Second I made it clear the player was trying to be too clever, showboating.

Equally the Barnsley manager made himself look stupid with his lack of respect comments.

I find it hard to see what your problem is?

Merely pointing out he was being a smart arse , And yes Barnsley manager should have kept quiet . I actually thought you were a Pool supporter, my apologies if your not .
