Watched the hugging at Pboro v Wigan. Boro player was.literally clinging onto fella while a corner was being taken...but they were chatting and almost laughing amicably while they were doing it...in the middle of the act.. It was quite funny to see, they didnt seem bothered, I guess the stakes are higher in the PL

Opposing player on a yellow? Just get into a grapple in the box at a corner. Sure, you take a yellow but the other guy gets sent off.

Yeah, the parent tactic of "I don't care who started it you're both on the naughty step and neither of you are getting dessert" doesn't really work here - neither from common sense nor the laws of the game.

It's no different to a typical pushing and handbags situation elsewhere on the pitch. Doesn't matter who started it, the referee often books players involved on both sides

Handbags is a very different situation really, where booking both players usually is appropriate - the actions are violations that don't require the ball being in play and hitting back is just as much a violation. With wrestling, there's a decision on whether it's a free kick or a penalty if the ball is in play - which is 100% on which player started it. Wrestling pre corner kick being taken could potentially be a verbal warning from the ref, but there's not really anything bookable until the ball is in play.

Some really good prem' results last night....in as much as the way they affect the top AND the bottom.
I include my Lpool with my normal Slott must go mantra.
City draw against Forest
Utd lose to Newcastle.
Lots more to make the race for top or safety fascinating.

Spurs most likely of West Ham, Forest and them to go down now. IMHO

38 points has been enough to survive for the last 16 seasons.
So if they win tonight they are basically safe.

They'd need four of the bottom six to go past them, that's from: Leeds, Spurs, Forest, West Ham, Burnley, Wolves
They're 5 ahead of Leeds already and 8 ahead of West Ham

It's going to have to go monumentally pear shaped for them not to survive. But personally, as an Arsenal fan, I'd love it if they trod Spurs head under water to keep themselves afloat. Not being greedy though, I'd settle for the for trophies we're still in and Spurs stay up*

*JOKE, there's no way we're winning all four, some of our players already look like they're newly reanimated from the grave and it's only March. And no - I wouldn't swap any of the four for a Spurs relegation**
**I think we'll probably win something this season, possibly two things and if we're exceptionally lucky three, though I'd probably die of surprise and/or alcohol poisoning. I think we'll go into 26-27 as the walking dead (particularly as it's a World Cup year) so I'd rather save Spurs relegation until next year when we're probably too knackered to win anything
