The EFL has voted in favour of expanding the playoffs to cover positions three to eight. I think this is utterly bonkers. Potentially the eighth placed Championship side could achieve promotion. If one looks at today's table that would mean all the clubs down to 16/17th would currently have a chance of promotion. Unlikely but 17th, Norwich, are only six points off 8th.

Absolute rubbish idea. They already compete for a place in the Prem. The first two go up, 3-6 do the playoffs. Perhaps they should just do away with the whole league bit and just do a seeded knockout? It'd be far quicker and more sensible

It's half time and Spurs have gone all Spursy, to the delight of us West Ham fans and no doubt those in one half of Nottingham too.

The difference between Bristol City and Preston was stark. One can see why City are having a good season, good players, team well set up etc. PNE on the other hand have just got lucky this season. They're very average. How they won 1 - 5 at City is beyond me.

Oh, boy. I did not see that one coming but it's a result that underlines my view of PNE. Beaten at Ewood 1 - 0 and last night lost 3 - 1 at home to Oxford. Two clubs that have struggled at the bottom all season.

There's only one way to view the PNE v Oxford result. It drops us fair and square in deep, deep trouble. We have Portsmouth today followed by Oxford away on Wednesday. We have to avoid defeat at all costs in both matches, ideally winning one of them. Given a choice I'll take a draw with Pompey and a win at Oxford - that puts us seven clear of Oxford. Switch those around and we're only six clear of Oxford.

It's more than sixty years since I fell in love with footy........never did I think how important mental arithmetic would become.

Lose today and I think we're done for, the team will bottle on Wednesday if we're beaten today. Lose both games and we're down. After these matches we play Millwall and Boro before WBA on Easter Monday

I enjoyed the Wolves v Lpool game. Boy, that 17 year old Rio is a bit special. With the right management and guidance he could be among the best.

Rovers had a great chance after 10 minutes but Ohashi skied it. Pompey scored with the first on target shot, from either side, after 85 minutes, Rovers knocked one in on 93 minutes.

In between two very poor teams produced a very, very poor game. Fortunately all the other sides drew as well.

On to Wednesday. If we don't improve we will get beaten.

Finally a win for Tottenham!

Yup, not particularly good for either club. But as long as there's three worse teams in the final table, we should be OK to see how the other half live in Tottenham next season.

The FA cup draw has been made.
Chelsea and Arsenal get (on paper) easy games whereas we are away to City, a difficult game on any day.

Well you live and learn. Apparently a "Panenka" is style of penalty kick. Ouattara took a very stupid penalty for Brentford last night. He dinked the ball straight into the keeper's hands. This is what the Brentford manager had to say about it:

"No, I'm not annoyed at all. When you miss a penalty it is a tough moment, but it is easier to not take a penalty than take a penalty.

"It takes serious courage to do that. He practises that technique a lot, if it goes in everyone's raving about him."

Well, there's truth in those words but a little dink down the middle? I doubt many Bees fans are quite as understanding as their manager. Daft. If in doubt, smack hard down the middle. That'll go in 9/10. Dinks? Shuffles? Stop/start? Nothing but showboating.
