Although i am a season ticket holder at West Ham i have been to a few games this season at Southend United with a mate who supports them and i really enjoyed it.

I suspect quite a lot of 'big club' supporters have other clubs that they follow regularly - particularly if faced by long/expensive away trips.

A very long time ago (over 50 years ago), I lived in NW London and had friends who were Arsenal supporters. They would often go to Vicarage Road on Saturdays if Watford were at home and Arsenal were playing hours of travel away.

Although I wasn't an Arsenal supporter at the time (I followed Bolton and Everton), I saw a few games at Watford with my friends and enjoyed watching them. I also saw some matches at Wealdstone and Edgware Town.

I think that if you're a football supporter without deep pockets, you get your Saturday afternoon fix of live football wherever you can.

Chelsea fan all my life. Season ticket holder for many years up to a few years ago. Over the past few years have been to more Bromley FC Games then Chelsea games. Moved to Rochester end of 2024, have been to see both Rochester United FC (League 10 in the pyramid) and also Chatham Town FC (League 7). Chatham have a very nice, well run stadium and regularly get's gates in the 1000's.

It's princely £5 for me to go and watch North Shields (who I live round the corner from) or £8 to go and see Whitley Bay.

Killie is a bit of a logistical nightmare.

Where do they stick the away fans at Anfield? I'm planning on going to see Arsenal ladies there in mid May, but I won't if it'll be a rubbish seat in a high up stand somewhere (the ticket sales have started for Liverpool but not yet for Arsenal away fans)? Although whether Liverpool ladies would get a decent crowd there I don't know (to use upper tiers) and segregation is generally pretty relaxed at WSL games

Although I haven't been for 13 years I imagine it's still the Anfield Road end. Whenever I went with Rovers we were sat in the right hand side, as you look at the pitch, lower tier.

I usually parked the other side of Stanley Park and walked over. Once made the mistake of parking on Ince Avenue........when I spotted this I went back and moved the car to another road!!! 🤣

I have a lot of respect for supporters of lower league clubs.You are going to watch your team play week after week knowing as you said that they will never be right up there.

I can't claim to be a big supporter, its only been this season I've really gone regular, with occasional matches in the past but enjoying it all the same.
Still waiting for the.Port Vale game we had tickets for but was postponed to to PVs Cup commitments.

Mine was Leyton Orient, our nearest neighbours. It was helped by the fact that the fixture list made sure they did not have home games at the same time, as is common to avoid too much congestion.

Clapton in the Isthmian League was another that received regular visits, as it was a few hundred yards from my school.

Clapton FC are now out of the football pyramid, played their last match in '24, while Clapton Community FC which was started by Clapton fans disaffected with the club's secretary in 2018 now play at The Old Spotted Dog in a feeder for the Isthmian league

I'm an Arsenal fan because I grew up locally. Lower league footy is a completely different affair now, in many ways. I've been to a couple of Fremad Amager matches (keep meaning to go to more), and it's mainly about having a beer and a chat with mates. Being an Arsenal fan is more about being on the verge of an existential crisis at all times, punctuated by the occasional blast of dopamine when your latest 16yr old wonderkid scores a last minute goal in an absolutely critical league match

I've always been a Lpool supporter (well, since early 60s) but when I lived on the Wirral I went to the odd Tranmere game and always had a soft spot for them.
