Its not going to change. They have deemed it necessary for most games and therefore it will happen in all games for consistency. In isolation doing it in an Air-conned stadium or whilst its raining is a bit daft.

The whole thing is daft. It’s just so obviously contrived to meet advertising requirements. I’m so glad ITV are not playing ads yet.
The solution is to bring on water during natural breaks in play. Or put water bottles around the pitch. No need for a contrived 3 minute break, where the clock keeps ticking anyway.

To be fair the Croatia goals were 2 great finishes / moves, but slightly worrying we got cut apart so easily. Much better 2nd half, could have easily had 2 or 3 more goals in that spell after the Bellingham goal.

in fairness as I saw someone point out today as I hadnt really processed it to this level to be fair, it was FIFAs decision, for sure to suit what their view of the American audience is, but it was FIFA who did it, so blame FIFA.

the Americans, as Ive been in America and watched premier league football on tv in a bar and no one complained about quarters or having to pay attention for 45 mins or any of that stuff, actually really dont care about that stuff. However it apparently guarantees nearly a billion dollars worldwide in ad revenue which is shared amongst FIFA and tv companies ultimately.

so dont blame the yanks, blame the people skimming the profits from it.
