Perennial underachievers Belgium strike (or don't) again. Daft that they started Lukaku who looked understandably miles off the pace and couldn't trap a bag of wet cement.

Great result for Iran, despite everything the US has thrown up as an obstacle to their participation: goalkeeper was immense and their defending was very well organised, if a little chaotic at times.

Early days but Cape Verde (I'm still not convinced it's a country) are one up against Uruguay. While Uruguay seems to have most of the action, it's not entirely against the run of play. So far.

Playing in a World Cup finals to me would be far more of an attraction than seeing a sprog being dropped! I'm thinking he might've had the same thoughts.🧐

I am sure he doesn't view it as "a sprog being dropped off"......he obviously sees it as the birth of his baby.
His baby, his choice, I am with him 100%.

You say that as if it would be an unlikely scenario.

We've learned from previous gubbings, could easily have taken a pasting off Morocco after their early goal but settled down and played our way back into the game. Questionable refereeing (not just for us, there have been some weird calls) and a lack of an instinctive finisher cost us: put prime Boyd or McFadden in that side and we'd be a different prospect.

As the 3rd place table stands we're in a good position. But as I'm ever the optimist I fancy we might get a result against the Samba Boys...

If they stay 3rd and go through looks like Germany...

All the more reason for us to get a result against Brasil...

That said, the pasting we took off them at the Euros is the main one I was referencing as one we've learned from, haven't been on the end of anything like that since.
