Ailsa Craig has long been the source, but there are now other Quarries producing cheaper and inferior stones, like they did before it was standardised with the Ailsa Craig granite.

I am sure that the workers at Kays in Mauchline, Ayrshire, (where they actually make the 'real' stones and a town also famous for Robert Burns) would come out and fight you if you tried to 'dirty' their source!! 😆
