Indeed, it's a bit like watching South Americans play football without the constant feigning of death ;)

Well, who would be Thomas Tuchel? Even Trump thinks he screwed up. Clearly he must have done if that's the case. Geez.

All over the mainstream media, social media and any other communication channel one can find an "expert" with "exclusive inside knowledge" of what went wrong for England. I've read bits and pieces, all of which confirm one thing. No one is really interested in the football. Lots of "experts" are interested in making money out of England's WC exit.

It really is a load of utter bollocks. Bring on Rovers v Boro. Proper football and far from a money making machine dressed up as sport.

If anyone is in need of a proper football fix, Ayrshire's finest are away at Elgin this afternoon in the League Cup group stage.

Actual, genuine, competitive domestic football ladies and gents!

This anecdote was shared on the Killie forum earlier, which made me chuckle:

"Prior to this match, the Elgin City centre forward had been boasting in the press about what Elgin were going to do to Killie. He was full of himself - they were going to take Killie 'to the cleaners'!

On the journey north for the match, prior to the days of motorways and bypasses, the team bus had to travel through Perth. On passing the Head Office of Pullars of Perth, the dry cleaning giants of the day, Jimmy Cook shouted "Driver - stop the bus!"

To the puzzlement of his teammates, Jimmy disappeared into the office and emerged a few minutes later with a smile on his face.

Later, as the teams lined up for kick-off, Jimmy strolled over to the loudmouthed centre forward and thrust a Pullars of Perth dry-cleaning ticket into his hand, saying "That is the only thing you will be taking to the cleaners today!!"

ETA - Jimmy wasn't wrong, we won 1 - 4.

I've watched or had in the background a vast majority of the World Cup matches, but if it wasn't for the scheduled kickoff at 2200 tonight, I had already decided I wasn't going to schedule a ride around it. Not only because of the "pointless" third place playoff aspect, but I'm expecting the real Slim Shady France to turn up tonight after their shocking semi final against Spain.

I reckon France will hit 3+ against England tonight, regardless of whether England aactually get some crosses and shots on target at the other end.
