Both sides have a point to prove, but I reckon England have more about them.

3 - 1 to England.

I just hope that players carrying injuries aren't used in this pointless thing. If Rice plays I'm going to do my nut

I like footy but I won't be watching.
3rd pace ? Seriously, what does it matter apart from the greedy money makers.

Potentially your best finish since '66.

One up on the French.

Golden Boot on the table.

Worth $30 million, which could (should) be distributed around?

It matters.

To be clear, I'm not having a go at you @Dave7, just does my head on a bit when this is considered a meaningless game.

I'm watching it, hoping for a third place finish and I've put my flag out for the last time in this world cup. The England support isn't the same as our previous games in this, or any other world cup or Euros. It's more like support for the England woman's team, or under 21's.

It's a glorified friendly. Any teams that harboured genuine ambitions of winning wanted to go home days ago when they went out. As in "went out of the competition". It's borderline psychopathic to make them play again. I mean if you're Cabo Verde* it would be a dream to be here, all part of the adventure. I guess for a few fringe players it's a chance to say they actually played, and maybe a chance to show why they should have played more. I'm assuming Kobie Mainoo has doen something terrible to Tuchel's mum though. Ruled out due to injury, while even Henderson makes the bench with a broken arm

Ironically, the one England player that probably wants to be on the pitch is on the bench - Harry Kane - because he'd like to see if he can grab the Golden Boot.
