You've got to view it a bit like an exhibition I think, I don't feel it was a true reflection of either sides footballing ability!

More important to me than an exhibition match. We came third, our best finish in 60 years, though we nearly threw it away.

Personally I view them as completely different situations but as you will notice about all my comments.....I am not telling others what they should feel or think. It is my opinion only......and I have been known to be wrong before .
To be honest, I have been up since 04.30, was very tired and the match was on far too late for me. Perhaps if it had been an early KO I would have watched it. As it was, I was in the land of nod by 21.30.

Ignoring last night the goals tally is the most England have scored extending the upward trajectory since 2018; 12, 13 , 14. On the other hand the 8 goals conceded is equal most.

It was a match not hamstrung by a fear of losing…and certainly by France until the second half not giving a sh*t.

Teams seem not to mind playing international friendlies but somehow a match for 3rd place in the World Cup and another chance to represent their country was an imposition?

Well the third place match comes after you've already played 7 competitive games, travelling the whole time, away from family. Then there's the psychological impact of losing a semi-final and having to go and play a match for something nobody really cares about
