It was a reckless challenge, but I've seen a lot worse and the player was incredibly unlucky to die after it. I also feel for the goalkeeper, there didn't look to be any intent other than to get the ball and his career is probably over as well as getting slaughtered in the media.

I guess the footage would have just been up there from the match rather than posted specifically due to the incident (I haven't seen it so I may have yet again underestimated how bad people can be).

It isn’t that bad. It’s just a terrible unlucky tackle. He rolls around for a bit.
The medical teams run on and he gets taken away.
He died of complications a day later.
He didn’t die on the pitch.

yes obviously massive condolences to the strikers famly, but you have to feel for the keeper who will be haunted by it. Daft challenge to go for, but no malice or intent, he had eyes on the ball, as did the striker and it was just very very unfortunate.
