Shannon McDonnell has left Saints now. First time I've looked at the Ireland Rugby League squad. I am shocked at how many of those plays are English, plus the Australian.

Rugby has some really odd nationality rules.

Stuart Littler, ex Leigh Centurions & Salford centre played his last ever competitive RL for Ireland in that game.

He really isn't very Irish at all.

That's brilliant news, there are brilliant opportunities to play international in rugby league if your a union player from Ireland, Wales or Scotland as there is such an opportunity.

Please keep me posted, I'm really interested to hear about their experience, league is such a fast game to play

Ireland beat Russia 70-16 at the weekend, having already beat Spain, to ensure qualification for the 2017 World Cup. Great news. Unfortunately Matthew was injured and not involved. I'm not sure he would have been involved in the match day squad even if he had been fit. Scott Grix of Huddersfield Giants scored a couple of tries in the game.
If Matthew had been fit but unselected for Ireland he was down to play number 8 for our second XV at the weekend!

Watched littler when he was younger and thought he'd Ben a star, turned out a very good player but I thought he was capeable of more

Yes Ireland are a competent side, I think they passed a rule not too long ago saying at least 6 players in any squad had to have come through Irish system
