Ok, from a fnrttc virgin, but I've just registered for this one.
I have the bike, the lights and the enthusiasm.
What else do I need?
My no. 1 worry on this is - What's the pace like?
I''m definitely not as quick as most of you, and we all know there's nothing worse than having to ride to a slower pace than your own.
How many normally join this particular ride?
Thankyouthankyouthankyou.

As to pace, you will be fine. Trust me, I doubt if you will be the slowest.
And no one is left behind.

Simon lists all the riders in this topic.

Go along and you will enjoy......

+1 to the previous comments about pace. I did my best to keep the speed down last time

The thing is that those of us who are willing and able to get a move on get the chance (and we like to stop and natter as well!), those with a more stately speed are more than accomodated. Worry not, you'll be fine, and you won't be holding anyone up.

Hold us up? Its not us slower riders but those fast racers with feathersided tubes inside their superslicks. Bang before we even left HPC twice this year. But the TECS sort them while us tortoises cruise past unsmirkingly. Oh dear I hope the fairy doesn't seek revenge in deepest Erith.

You'll be fine. Bring cake and everybody will be behind you ...

Any value in meeting at Sloane Square for a 'dress rehearsal' ref: 3rd September, oh Leadermeister? Just a thought. (We can buy some of those plastic 'Bobby's' helmets from Oxford Street etc..for crowd control )

That's a good idea (Sloane Square I mean).

that's a very good idea. Why don't we meet at Sloane Square at 11, spend quarter of an hour chatting about the Martlets ride, and then go up to Hyde Park Corner?

I may not have made much of this before, but my thought is that the 2011 Brighton and Bognor rides might start from Sloane Square (runs from room as brickbats from FNRttCers rain down on his head....)

No brickbats from me. Why not start from Sloane Square? For my part, practically the same distance from Waterloo as HPC, so no real difference there.....

Would Sloane Square offer the same rain protection as HPC while we enjoy dellzeqq's thespianic briefing?
Alternatively the Royal Court might be a good stage for a revival of 'Look Bike - in Anger'

Yes thats me, have you asked for a show of hands as either way markers or TECs yet?

Matthew (S)
no - well, that's because I've not asked. I'm going to send out the usual e-mails before the ride, and ask for volunteers from outside the usual willing regulars. I am succeeding, slowly in enlarging the pool of regulars, with Olaf and Susie doing more than their bit, but I am aware that I rely all too often on the same people.
