I was doing the walk of shame home when a passing stranger kindly offered help and generously offered a spare tube. After I explained the spare tube I’d been carrying round for weeks turned out to be a 26” MTB tube rather than the 700 size tube I thought I’d packed!
He seemed surprised I turned down his kind offer but I’d only 2 miles left to walk and the sun was shining, it seemed unfair to deprive him of his spare so close to home.
Lesson learnt, I won’t leave my repair kit empty thinking it’s ok I’m carrying a spare especially when I’m commuting without my wallet and it’s a Friday when I’m last out the office.
If that happened to be you who stopped on the A56 between Whitefield & Bury about an hour ago, thanks very much! Top bloke.
