Nights are drawing in, weather is getting even colder, winter and Christmas are coming. Hard to find any positives to be honest.

The only good thing I can think is that in just under 3 months it'll be the shortest day..

Snow.. That's all we bloody need. It'll be knee deep for weeks with a bitter north easterly turning it to ice on top. Lethal. Then suddenly it all turns to slush and it's back to sodden floods again. And as for Christmas.. don't talk to me about that festival of commercialised over-consumption all dressed up in the guise of some meaningless religious stuff.

And then there's the family.. They'll all be coming over.. Aaaaarggghhhh!!

It is a matter of perception I guess.. Christmas is what you make of it. For me Christmas is time off, good food, loads of baking, quality time with my dogs, family and the people I love, board games, the beginning of skiing season and winter holidays planning. Nothing to do with religion (far from it) and not really involved with the "commercial" part of it.
The snow on the other hand, it's a matter of taste! Some like it, some don't. I love everything about it (yes, even the muddy slush afterwards). Plenty of snow-specific gear out there to handle the cold as well.

There's always a reason to winge, critisize and reject, but if you slightly change your point of view things might look a tad bit better! The up-bringing in Cyprus doesn't help I guess..

Not much you can do about your family though I'm afraid..

A beautiful autumn day is a wonderful thing in the climate in which we live; the colour and the last stand of those remnants of the summer...I love the autumn and the sound of leaves beneath my feet, base miles on the bike, watching my own breath, the harvest and all things considered, the fruition of all nature before the onset of darkness and rebirth.

It's ok you needn't worry, I wasn't really serious, I was wearing my Victor Meldrew hat.
