2010 marks the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Hercules Cycle & Motor Company in Rocky Lane, Aston. The company was formed by the Crane Brothers, Harry and Edmund, later Sir Edmund in 1910 and by the 30s was considered to be the largest cycle company in Great Britain.

The Hercules 100 will start from the former factory (a small part is left) on Sunday August 1st and will proceed to Trimpley near Bewdley to the Trimpley Vintage Rally (Tractors, traction engines, cars, motorcycles cycles-everything!) Full details on website

No registration is required just turn up at Hercules-ride a mile or all the way-its up to you. Come in your car or bowling a hoop, it doesnt matter, just come and support THE MIDLAND AIR AMBULANCE (lets hope none of us ever need it)

Sounds great but 1910 is a bit too modern for me:biggrin:

When Currys stopped producing bikes in Leicester in 1931 it was Hercules who built machines for them badged up as Currys. They made bikes for other companies too, so there are more Hercules bikes out there than people realise.

Hope you have a great event.
