Once saw a docu that showed a baby Hippo surrounded by about six hungry lions - no chance you'd think. Suddenly one angry adult Hippo turns up and starts throwing lions all over the place. Respect to the Hippo - from a safe distance of course!

Many years ago my dad was in SA and he was delayed tee'ing off at the course he was playing on with some clients as a guy had been attacked whilst on the putting green, the hippo launched itself out the lake, ran onto the green and dragged him back into the lake.

Hippo's obviously don't enjoy golf! sensible creatures!

I know which pic you mean, but I think it's just the angle and the hippo has it's jaws round the croc's middle from the side...

I suspect that the overall effect on the croc's health is much the same!

Aren't hippos the closest related land animals to whales and dolphins?
