Two words I never thought I'd see in the same sentence - 'joy' and 'Radiohead'. Tom Yorke is scowling, and he's scowling at you, c2c!

i love scowling..... especially the way radiohead do it, although there was irony intended in the post title. the sun shining, the pedals turning, and thom scowling....... marvelous.

Tisk...I'm not a fan of earphones when cycling. But, ages ago I got some cheap speakers from poundland. The other day I selotaped them to my rucksack and listened to some Pendulum as I cycled around. Averaged 17mph, usually average around 16mph on the route I did.

Unfortuanly, as the speakers were so cheap, I couldn't hear the music when there was either wind, or I was going at a reasonable pace. During the quieter moments it was quite nice though to have some music just playing out loud.

Definitly going to put it on my commuting rucksack when I've got a longer distance to do.

I'm going to play a bit of Kid A now .

Mrs Dr Bollo works in Oxford and has on the odd occasion seen Mr Yorke pedalling up and down St Giles. He was usually scowling.

Only joking, you had a nice ride, sun, music and the joy of cycling, amen to that.

I cant bring myself to use headphones, I suppose I could somewhere with no cars but not on the roads.

I feel obliged to be disapproving of headphones while cycling, but I love Radiohead. "Exit music (for a film)" is just fantastic. As "Talk Show Host", "Street spirit" and many others.

i must admit, its not a brilliant idea to listen to music whilst cycling on the roads.. ones ears are often a first line of defence against pesky car drivers.. but, i do love listening to music when im cycling, and often, as a poster above has said, when for instance a particularly fav track comes on, ie creep, by of course radiohead, i do seem to ride faster. well perhaps not faster per se, lets just say im oblivious to road undulations....music seems to flatten out the road. and because i know that i cant hear road traffic, im much more aware of looking behind, and around me........

ps.i know its old but, marchin already, by ocean colour scene, is a great album to cycle too....

headphones whilst cycling = deathwish.

no two ways about it.
muppet behaviour o the highest order

Doesn't matter if it is Central London or the depths of Countryside - the risks are the same.

Sounds nice bit I never cycle with headphones except on my old MTB on quiet cycle paths/grass. Never on the road bike.

Interesting news... although I expect I'll have them already! Bought all the CD singles years ago and compiled them into my own CDs - 2 discs with 20+ tracks per disc at original quality. ;)

Good call, though for me it could never eclipse Moseley Shoals. If you haven't already, get a copy of B-sides, Seasides and Free Rides.
