anyone who likes the Killing may also be interested in a french show called Spiral. this was shown on bbc 4 i think a while ago (bbc part funded the 2nd series) but we got it on dvd box set. brilliant stuff.

That 'civil servant' Olav is very creepy too, isn't he. And who was he ringing after the face-off with Hartmann about the missing teacher's file a few episodes back? At the time, I assumed it was something to do with the incumbent Mayor's campaign or were we supposed to link his phone call with the one Rie was receiving simultaneously?

I tried picking this up from episode 9 but found it too confusing, so I've used BBC iPlayer to download the first few episodes (skipped no3), and I'm just finished the 4th. It's enthralling

Have just about used up my bandwidth allowance for the month (good job the iPlayer warned me!), so will wait for a few days to download another 3 episodes then pick it up from where I've started recording it. I'll be avoiding this thread for a while until I catch up..... glad I read it in the first place though!

I agree - but then Pernille hasn't been showing much emotion either.

Watched the second of last weekends double bill last night. Even my wife who usually shuns thriller type films is totally hooked.

Superb, and yet another twist, another yet suspect, or is that two, or three.

Where does it go from here? Your thoughts!

When Pernille found that Theis had cleared their daughter's room, she was surprisingly calm. I would have expected her to be very upset, and shout, not calmly tell him to leave. Then he calmly agreed.

This makes me think that he realises she knows whatever it is that he feels so guilty about. But it cannot be that she thinks he was involved in the death of their daughter, or her reactions would have been much more violent than that.

Don't want to spoil it but all I'll say about the ending is that after all that complication and intrigue it came down to a pretty simple confrontation, didn't it!

There are several loose endings to the final eposide; not surprising given the complexity and no doubt will be the starting point for series 2.
