That's a mere 4 days cycle for you!
Only if someone drove me the extra 90 miles

My parents are visiting in Summer and I had planned to take them on a few day trips - 100 miles seems do-able

I could cycle up the A6 to Keswick, I've done Windermere twice. That pie would be a fitting reward.

When are you going? I'll join you!

Must confess, it looks similar to the sausage pie my wife used to make. She used to make chocolate cakes too.

I've a mind to join you Vern. It's the day after the bank holiday and also school half term so if I was you I'd take the precaution of phoning The George to check they're going to have the pie in stock. It would be terrible to travel all that distance and have to eat something from Brakes or 3663 or Food Service as a poor substitute.

I'll be doing a leisurely C2C and will probably camp there.

Is that the end of Day 1 @vernon, and are you starting from Whitehaven or Workington?

Yes, a very leisurely day one especially since the pie appears to be the evening meal at t'pub and I'll have just got back from Knockengorroch festival. I'm minded to start at Workington for a change of scenery and a not too challenging day - I could be frail from the weekend's excesses.
