The lives of Jelly Fish

I was down at north wales the weekend - and lots of Jelly fish were washed up on the beach. It got me wondering:-

Do they get washed up on the beach - because they are already dead ?

Or do they die because they get stranded by the tides ?

Why are loads washed up at the same time ?

Jelly Fish are at the mercy of strong tides, simple as that.
They swarm, hence loads at the same time.

i got to see a large one floating close to the shore recently, i could of sworn it turned to look at me

They can swim at up to 4mph if they want to which is faster than I can. I can't say I've ever been chased by one.

Heading up to North Wales myself, this weekend, to our caravan. There were loads of jellyfish on the nearby beach, last Summer, but not seen any this year, so far. Will have a look and see if there are this time

What you see on a beach is less than underwater. The water can be dense with them at certain times of the year.
