I had never heard of it until today.
Its when you (and most other people) are convinced (YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW) they remember something eg a famous quote/event.... only to find you actually have it wrong.
Called Mandela effect as many people recall him dying in prison.
So....... here is one (no googling)
In Snow White.....when the witch looked into the mirror....what did she say/ask?

I always thought it was called the Mandala effect.

Mirror, mirror upon the wall, who is the fairest maiden of all.

Magic mirror on the wall...
Actually I have to ask, which version / translation of the story? Because I've just chrcked both the Nora Clarke and Philip Pullman versions and while subtly different to each other, they're pretty much as you'd expect. So where's the Mandela effect?

Exactly. My version was the one collected by the brother's Grimm, but I don't remember which translation or adaption ... so?

I hope this thread isn't suggesting that Disney is canon.

Apparently in the original fairy tale it was "mirror mirror" but in the 30s Disney film it was "magic mirror".
Now both me and grandaughter say...we have never read the book and only watched the film....and we both recall it as "mirror mirror".
I suppose thats a classic case of KNOWING you are correct when you arent.

I am trying to remember something I misremembered.
But which bit are you trying to remember, the bit that you misremembered or bit you remembered if so was it the bit you actually remembered or is it actually the bit you misremembered in the first place which is why you remembered it.
