But which bit are you trying to remember, the bit that you misremembered or bit you remembered if so was it the bit you actually remembered or is it actually the bit you misremembered in the first place which is why you remembered it.

I don't know. Maybe you could suggest some things I might have misremembered.

I can't remember the ending of Little Red Riding Hood. Did she have sex with the wolf or not?

Now both me and grandaughter say...we have never read the book and only watched the film....and we both recall it as "mirror mirror".
Or you've heard it casually said many more times than you've seen the film.

Now if you both mis-remembered the prince waking her with a good hard rogering*, that would be the Mandela effect.

I had never heard of it until today.
Its when you (and most other people) are convinced (YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW) they remember something eg a famous quote/event.... only to find you actually have it wrong.
Called Mandela effect as many people recall him dying in prison.
So....... here is one (no googling)
In Snow White.....when the witch looked into the mirror....what did she say/ask?

The bloke is American they are known for being ignorant of what happens outside their country. You would have to have been living in a bubble to have missed all the media exposure Mandela has had over the years.

Locally, a "concerned mother" has objected to her child being subjected to the story of the prince kissing the sleeping princess, since he did not first seek her unequivocal consent, before committing said act. Goodness knows the level of consent required for your suggested ending!

I have a both volume I and II of politically correct bedtime stories floating around here somewhere. I'll have to look up how that was dealt with

I'm with her. The lessons of female passivity that bends immediately to the will of a powerful man are not good for girls. Not good for boys either.

But for that matter, what are kids learning from Hansel & Gretel ... child abandonment, cannibalism and murder?
