I think the problem is that Gordon is getting his backs and fronts back-to-front!

It's this Gordon:

(Back) 0-0 --- 0-0 --- 0-0 --- 0-0 --------------- 0-0 ---> (Front)

Not this:

(Front) 0-0 --- 0-0 --- 0-0 --- 0-0 --------------- 0-0 ---> (Back)

(Must be an age thing! ;))


By the way, have you seen Monday's weather forecast? Nice sunny, warm conditions but ...

At the slow speeds I'm currently riding at - no way would you be back in time! :sad:

See you for a forum ride later in the year. (I've forgotten - are you free for the Bowland ride on the 15th?)

Nope off doing a first aid course, not idea how weekends have got so busy!

Nothing we've not seen before Colin, at least we have a bit of help on the way out, we can all tuck in behind you on the way home :tongue:

I could have done with Colin to hide behind on the second half of my Audax today, headwind the whole way back!

Or in my case 40 lbs, which it seems to have subtracted from Gordon (OldnSlow) on my right!

Right then, you and Steve at the front then me and Alun can have an easy ride home :thumbsup:
To be on the safe side - Steve first, followed by me, followed by Alun. At the back, you won't even be able to tell if it is day or night, let alone whether the wind is blowing! ;)

Sorry, but I won't be in attendance. I've got a note from my mu...I mean I've accepted an invitation to do 'The Sanctuary Sportive' from Langho tomorrow and then I can watch my favourite football team on Monday.

But the wind!!! OMG! I decided to give the bike a miss today but just ran up my favourite hill, Bouldsworth (above Trawden - you'll know it) and it was as if someone had erected a ginormous wind machine and set it against me on the way out, and up! I'd estimate it added about 20% extra difficulty on the run to the summit but it pushed me back almost effortlessly.

We'll have to face the same again tomorrow, according to the weather man, and that route goes up Jeffrey Hill from both directions so we're going to have to ride up that brute in the teeth of a gale at one point. Such fun!

I'm listening to the wind getting under the heavy slates on my roof right now!

I was watching the trees on the hillside opposite earlier, They were swaying back and forth. I was going to go for a ride this afternoon but I think I'll walk instead!

Climbing Jeffrey Hill into a gale will be tough but I suppose the bulk of Longridge Fell might shelter you from the worst of the wind until you get towards the top.

Just been for an 18 mile ride to deliver a birthday card to my niece, it was very windy, 20mph headwind going, nice coming back though :thumbsup:
Can feel that 1.5 lbs I've put back on, must stop eating chocolate(well after this last bar has gone) :whistle:

It was lovely and sunny but that strong wind was still blowing. If we get that on Monday our longer, hillier ride out will be much quicker than the shorter, flatter ride back!

I walked up to Heptonstall this afternoon for a coffee and a scone which I polished off in the sunshine by the old ruined village church. It was lovely and sunny but that strong wind was still blowing. If we get that on Monday our longer, hillier ride out will be much quicker than the shorter, flatter ride back!

We could always do it the other way for the challenge
