Pretty sure I've found the perfect one for me, was just after a few other peoples opinions..

After a hybrid, will be doing off-roading as well as cycling to work so was looking at different bikes but couldnt stop looking at road bikes, plainly for the reason I love bikes with drop handle bars, I then stumbled across this..

What does everyone think?

Steve.

Looks good, Sora gearing, disc brakes, carbon fork....best of all it's not black and has some colour ;)

Get a testride and see if it's for you. If able to order online, go through quidco to save a few pennies (4% to be precise, so not far off £40)

Will have to talk to them and sort a test ride..

Looks great....I have toyed with the idea of a cyclo cross bike but ive only just convinced the Mrs I need a new road bike so that old one can become the winter hack.... so I don't think I will get away with a 3rd bike (at the moment:whistle:)

Personally I would not spend that sort of money on anything with a sora groupset. You can get a much better spec. than that. Look at the Boardman, better spec., better bike IMO and it is charcoal grey not black;)

Also look at http://www.evanscycles.com/products/scott/cx-comp-2012-cyclocross-bike-ec030967
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/jamis/nova-race-2013-cyclocross-bike-ec041503 and
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cannondale/caadx-tiagra-2013-cyclocross-bike-ec042907

After all, it sounds like a cyclocross that you are after. And please, forget the colour until you have test ridden them, then when you have narrowed it down to 2, you can decide on appearance.

Right, looking at the Boardman's and the first thing I should say (I forgot) is my company has a limit of £1000, so the CX Pro is £1499 and I cant see the other prices but I'm guessing they are around the same if not more?

Looking at the Scott CX, looks quite good.. Has very good reviews which is always good, may have to consider this one too then!

Looking again on the picture it shows no pedals and also in the description, is this common? haha.

Thanks mate.

Stephen you are like me on CTW and stuck with Evans and £1000. I have never gone wrong with a Specialized but what i did go wrong on is not get it fitted properly beforehand and Evans doesn't do that. Its worth going into , don't take offence anyone its meant kindly, a proper cycle shop and see if they have the same ones as Evans as some do. They will then be able to offer you good advice as to which ones suit your size/frame etc best, just don't tell them you won't be buying from there.

Yeah mate, there's a Bike Plus down the road from me that said I'm more than welcome to test drive ect, they also said they can order any specialised bikes in when I asked which is handy.

Out of interset, living in Kent (even though its huge) you dont work at Biggin Hill do you? haha.

Not the Boardman CX Pro, the norman CX:

All bikes will come with pedals, but they will be cheap normal ones, perhaps with cages and straps.
