£1.4 million each.... compared to £190,000 for an ordinary bus.... which complete prat has been let loose on procurement?

In fact they should be able to take off vertically for that sort of money.

[QUOTE 1742101, member: 45"]Anyone been on one? They seem a bit expensive.
More importantly, there's something about the first interviewee that I can't quite put my finger on....

I'm sure you really wouldn't want to anyway.

£1.4 mill per bus?? Looks to me like they have just added the development costs up and divided it by the number of buses in the first batch.

How much does it cost to fuel a normal one for its life? Cant be about a million pounds could it? I dont understand where they are saving from?

By reasonable they probably mean the sale price of just over a million each if they order a fleet.

I suppose Boris had to have them at any price for the opening of the Olympics to look like the pretend one at the Beijing Games wasn't a wind-up.... providing they're included in the £80 million for the ceremony.

I drive an Optare bus, me. It is an ugly looking thing, but it is enough to drive the Bus Spotters to the point of orgasm. Fekk knows what will happen when they see this one on the streets.

Jeeze.....it's only a bus, let's not get carried away. It'll still go round in threes and there won't be one when you need it and it won't stop outside my house or bring me back from the pub. Sorry, in a grumpy mood at the moment.
Thats ok, we're used to it in our trade ^_^
