Try a buisness trip to Darlington. The kebab shops' ownership change on a weekly basis, the cycle routes still aren't ready and the Friday night fights on High Row after the pubs chuck out are legendary. Far more exciting unstable than Africa.

After my trip to a 'stable' African country the main airport caught fire and terrorists took hostages in the capital city's most prestigious shopping mall before it was destroyed in the fighting. Everywhere we went was guarded and protected by security fencing! It was a good holiday though. I wouldn't go to Darlington.

Went out on Audax bike yesterday, and the front mech fell apart. It seems on closer inspection that a bolt that connects the actual moving part, the parallelagram I think it is called, has come out from the clamp around the seat tube. I was able to stay in the middle ring and get home though. Ho Hum

Top or bottom pull? I've got one of each going for £0.99 on Ebay at the moment. For triples.

The airport was actually torched in a revenge attack after the authorities kicked out the businessman whose duty free shops had been taking up most of the usable space in the miserable terminal.

My dishwasher gave up the ghost on NYD (2nd on the forum I think).

Still, it was 10 years old and I got a good deal in the sales for a replacement.

Ah, thanks for that. I did wonder if there was more to it than a simple accident. And it was indeed a very miserable terminal crammed to the gunnels with duty-free shops and nowhere to sit.

I have just taken it all apart and found a suitable bolt from an old mech. It was the bolt that holds the spring arm to the clamp, so thanks for the offer, but I am back on the road.

Looking forward to my meeting.with the wicked witch of worthing in a few minutes, always a joy. I wonder what spells she will use today. Last time it gave up on reasonable negotiation and flew up its own arse on its broomstick.

A relative phoned to say they were expecting. I took it as good news although I have never met her partner and know nothing about him, her brothers have not met him either. She is young, only recently having become independent and left home. I've not spoken to her parents about it but they knew about it when we last spoke less than a week ago. So it may be, let us say, mixed news.
